ASID SHOWCASE HOUSE 2013 KITCHEN/PANTRY-CONSTRUCTION & COMPLETION
We are nearing completion of the interior design for the Kitchen and Butler’s Pantry of this historic Victorian home in St. Paul. Sheree and I are excited to see our design come to life.
The wainscoting has been installed and walls and trim have been painted. Now the cabinets are being installed in the kitchen.

Its time to discuss the design of the faux finish detail on the ceiling with the custom painter/artist, Crista.
It looks great! The arabesque pattern will be repeated in valances and tile motif.

Bob is installing the custom valances for us. And the polished nickel pendants are in over the island.

Quartz counter tops by Cambria have been installed and so have the appliances. Gas range is by Capital, fridge is by Sub Zero. Cabinetry is outfitted with bin pulls and bracket feet for charm. Center island has been stained in gray for a soft finish. Original wood flooring has been cleaned up and polished. Wow!

The arabesque tile “picture” over the sink enhances the vintage cabinetry so perfectly. We love it all!
Now we are going to add a touch of color to the gray and white color scheme of the kitchen and butler’s pantry (see more of it in the next post). The peacock is a perfect compliment not only because of its vibrant greens, blues, and teals, but because it was an important symbol of wealth and prestige during the Victorian era. So we have a bit of history to add to our vintage kitchen.

This dinnerware by Edie Rose from Macy’s was too perfect to pass up, so it will have a prominent place in the new kitchen. Watch for the finished design of both spaces in my next post.
