CONVERSATIONS IN COLOR: HOLIDAY RED by Letitia Little
MORE HOLIDAY COLOR BROUGHT TO YOU BY THE DYNAMIC AND POWERFUL COLOR RED!
One of my favorite design elements is fabrics. A certain fabric and its colors can be my inspiration for an entire interior design project. It becomes the color source and I will select other fabrics with compatible patterns, scale, texture and color to coordinate with it. Any of the above pictured fabrics would make a great color source. The red plaid silks with their lustrous color would make great curtain panels or pillows. Cover a loveseat in the red botanical, cotton toile. Add some pillows in the Ikat pattern and the black check silk. Finish up with a fringe or two. Wonderful, rich fabrics for the holidays and all year round. Fabrics: Schumacher, Kravet, Ralph Lauren, Stroheim
These whimsical lighting fixtures are fabulous! The white chandelier from Rotaliana looks like a snowball and is made of hand knotted polyester “bubbles”. The bejeweled ball is made of double layered, hand twisted glass pendants. From AXO Light. WOW!
How about a traditional style bombay chest in Shanghai Red with antique brass pulls. Place it in an entryway, add a pair of tall antique brass candlesticks and a vase of fresh greens and red berries and you’ve got a very Merry design statement.
Contemprary elegance in Medea Red. This hand blown glass table lamp with polished nickel shade from Kravet sparkles all by itself!
